The Room Technique on Paper

The Room Technique is a simple imagination technique for UNBLENDING and EXTERNALIZING parts — especially the ones that come up around a person (or a barking dog, or anything!) that triggers you. 

The goal is not to stay calm and centered — that’s the most common misunderstanding of this exercise! The whole point is to flush out your parts: put the triggering person in an imagined room (a cage, a zoo, a bulletproof room — whatever kind of room your parts want), step outside, and let every part that comes up say what it needs to say, uncensored. 

This course includes a quick intro plus two complete on-paper demonstrations: 

1. Melissa’s demo — rage and grief toward a triggering person turn out to trace back to their true, much older source, and the session ends in a Self-led boundary: she doesn’t get to hurt me anymore.

2. Joseph’s demo — an agitated protector who wants to fight, the reasonable manager holding him back, and the bullied inner child they’re both protecting — all heard, and mediated into cooperation by Self.

You’ll learn how firefighters, managers, and exiles each show up around a trigger, and how uncensored truth-telling on paper — not suppression — brings clarity, relief, and real boundaries.
